Reading (All Ages): Ryan Modri can help early readers with developing basic pre-reading skills and learning how to decode words and pick up context clues. For more advanced readers, Ryan will help develop comprehension skills to make understanding complex texts much easier.

Writing (All ages): New writers must learn the stages of the writing process (pre-writing, drafting, revising, presenting). As children get older, they must learn research skills to gather information and techniques to integrate vast and sometimes complex information in a way that is engaging to the reader.

Cursive:  For those who value the importance of cursive, classes are now available. 

Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra. I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus): Studies show that even infants understand the concept of one and many, so it's a long road of mathematical learning that children take. Sometimes students needs help mastering basic facts, such as fractions, multiplication, and subtraction. But as students progress through the grades, the road can get bumpy as they learn Algebra I and II, and Geometry. It's always a good idea to stay on top of subjects so that students don't fall behind and to allow them to have a head start on new concepts down the road. Ryan Modri has the expertise to help.

Science: Science is everywhere you look! Young scientists sometimes need help developing their natural curiosity into valuable scientific skills. Eventually, as students enter high school there is a much higher demand to master these skills. Ryan Modri will help your child get to the head of the class without breaking Newton's laws. 

Critical Thinking (All ages): Thinking critically does not always come naturally, but there are specific teachable techniques and ways to approach information that allow students to think critically. Therefore, their learning potential is greatly enhanced. Additionally, critical thinking skills are interdisciplinary and can be applied to all aspects of life in school and outside of school.

Study Skills (All ages): Ryan Modri can show your child how to stay on top of the fast pace of schoolwork with organizational skills and fun memory tricks (based on memory research) that will make studying more efficient. Today, students are often involved in so many extracurricular activities that it gets difficult for them to manage their time, stay organized, and study effectively and efficiently.

Creative Thinking (All ages): At time, creative thinking is not encouraged in school, but often, the best learning experiences and teachable moments occur when it is part of the educational environment. Thinking "outside the box" and thinking creatively can often be jump started through a structured brainstorming session. From this initial brainstorm the creative flow can be harnessed and focused to more concrete steps, such as writing and diagramming.

Homework Support: Sometimes students are overwhelmed (and rightfully so) with too much homework! Moreover, the directions may be difficult for students (and parents) to understand. With a teacher's perspective, Ryan Modri can happily offer homework support in most subjects to help your child get the most out of their schooling.
